The NCSHE"s research agenda

Sam and I have been thinking through how to name the NCSEHE and its research agenda, in a sucinct way - the kind of thing we can even put on our letterhead. This is what we have so far:

"Founded in 2008, The National Centre for Student Equity in Higher Education is a research centre funded by the Australian Government Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations and hosted by the University of South Australia. The Centre's research is informed by three themes: aspiration, mobility, and place."

ASHE Institutes on Equity and Critical Policy Analysis

These look very interesting for us all...

Administered by the University of Southern California’s Center for Urban Education, the overarching mission of the Institutes on Equity and Critical Policy Analysis is to develop a community of equity minded scholars and policy analysts with a commitment to identifying, calling attention to, and changing policies and educational practices that produce and sustain racial-ethnic inequities in postsecondary outcomes.

Digital inclusion in education & training

I've been recently appointed  by national Ministerial agency Education.au to explore  the equity implications and opportunities related to e-learning and digital education.

I haven’t been able to find a great deal of research into this nexus in Australia despite the recent large investments in both policy areas, and uncovering many local gems of work in this field across Australia.

Equity101 Is LIVE

I have logged on and updated my bio with a photograph. I am off to look around the site but am excited about this new phase.
