ASHE Institutes on Equity and Critical Policy Analysis
These look very interesting for us all...
Administered by the University of Southern California’s Center for Urban Education, the overarching mission of the Institutes on Equity and Critical Policy Analysis is to develop a community of equity minded scholars and policy analysts with a commitment to identifying, calling attention to, and changing policies and educational practices that produce and sustain racial-ethnic inequities in postsecondary outcomes.
Our goal is to cultivate research and policy analysis that improves the capacity of higher education to more effectively create equity in opportunity and outcomes for racial and ethnic groups. As part of this endeavor, the activities of the Institutes are driven by the following objectives:
We aim to…
- strengthen the research capacities of emerging scholars and early-career policy analysts to study racial and ethnic equity in higher education;
- expand and diversify research methods and analytical frames to infuse critical perspectives in the study of race and equity in higher education;
- transform the agendas of higher education policy centers to be more responsive to problems of racial-ethnic inequality in higher education; and
- diversify the pipeline for professional staff and consultants affiliated with education policy centers and non-governmental organizations that influence state and federal higher education policy.
