At the end of the current funding quadrennium, at the end of 2012, the current Commonwealth funding arrangements for schools will have been in place for 12 years. The SES system uses a particular statistical method to determine funding entitlements for non-government schools that reflects a number of aspects of the communities from which students come. It provides funding to non-government schools as a percentage of the average cost of educating a child in a government school.
